Historie
Vistalink, a former department of VEGA NV
In 2004, Vistalink originated through an MBO of the machine vision department of VEGA NV. This department, founded in 1988, was considered to be the prominent leader in the field of vision based solutions throughout the Benelux for over 10 years.
In the beginning, only vision components like camera’s and frame grabbers were sold. The demand for total turnkey solutions increased, the business concern was transformed into an engineering company.
In the early nineties a number of ground breaking projects were accomplished. The number of engineers systematically increased as they continued to specialize in quality control. In the mid 90’s this resulted in a firm market leading position in Belgium where quality control projects were concerned.
With the breakthrough of the Data Matrix Code in 1997, they expanded their vision solutions to include tracking & traceability projects. This department, in close cooperation with several marking companies (laser-, dot-peening, inkjet marking), would profile itself as being the number one specialist in delivering turnkey solutions for industrial identification.
Since 2004, Vistalink has continued to walk in these footsteps emphasizing on professionalism and continuity. The entire team of engineers further expanded into a competence center dedicated to vision as a unique technological specialization. Vistalink has developed into an integrator of total turnkey solutions for industrial identification and verification.
A rich historical past
Vistalink is active within the young technology of industrial image processing. This technology reluctantly started to prevail in the industry in the early eighties. Ever since that day, Vistalink has been specializing in this innovating technology.
Mechelen, the city where we are located, has a similar history. It has always been considered to be one of the economical growing areas of Belgium. Combining a visit to Vistalink with a trip to the historical center of Mechelen comes highly recommended (www.mechelen.be).
