Solution in the spotlight: Tire DOT Code Reading

The laser triangulation principle enabled Vistalink to develop a system for the fully automatic identification of a tire by its DOT Code in only a few seconds. Our vision camera illuminates the rotating tire and processes the images into an elongated 3-dimensional profile. Specialized vision software then automatically searches the image for the DOT Code and reads it out. This code provides the assembly line with all the information it needs to correctly mount the right tire.
